Sometimes a woman just needs to get out of the house. Am I right???

Luckily, the cities and towns around me are birthing all kinds of new developments, businesses, and things to do. My latest stop was in Graham, NC for Merge: A Pop-Up Exhibition. I was tired from motherhood and the week's antics but ecstatic to be out among other creatives! I was also excited to be accompanied by illustrator/designer/web developer, Augustine Civalier (http://www.augustinesillustrations.jimdo.com/).

Merge: A Pop-Up Exhibition was an event showcasing the work of North Carolina artists. There were so many colorful and inspired pieces to admire and/or purchase ranging from $5 to $1000. It was hosted by CoOperative (http://www.thecooperative.co/) and Independent Artist Movement.

There were refreshments, but the main entrees and craft beer were provided by Wingz and Thyngz of Greensboro and Forgotten Road Ales of Burlington. Scheduled to perform were soul musician Julius Tunstall (with Brock King) and acoustic singer-songwriter Kristi Dixon. I missed Julius' performance but definitely plan to catch him live sometime soon!

Because the event was on a Thursday night, this mama didn't stay out for very long (School is still on-n-poppin on Fridays!). However, I had a fun time and I'm looking forward to the next event. Graham is quickly becoming a little cultural hot-spot and I'm all for it!

If you'd like to see some of the artwork and a snippet of my time there, check out the video below. I'd love for you to subscribe to the channel (it's free!) and join our Youtube family. Thanks! =)
