I decided to walk away from EVERYTHING that was no longer enjoyable or beneficial. The size of an opportunity/experience will *never* be more valuable than my peace & happiness. So yes... walk away if that's what you need to do... or do it differently. I did & it's the best decision I've ever made. Now, I'm ready & buckled in for a new version of the same ride. An aquarium & lights Festival in the same place! 😎 (Concord, NC) Sea Life at Concord Mills --> open daily Tianyu Lights Festival --> runs until June 22nd. (Research days, times, prices, etc) It's a small aquarium, but there's sufficient marine life & interactive activities for kids/tweens. The lights festival has acrobatics, lantern displays, & other exhibits. We saw the colorful setup on the property. Earlier this year, we took my youngest to the mall to reunite with a school friend who moved a few years ago. Slow Sunday mornings. That's always the goal. Along with a bigger cup of coffee & a view. I'm not in Gold Hill today, but looking back at photos makes me appreciate spending time there even more. So much beauty (and history!) @historicgoldhill It was a "gold mining-themed" day, seeing that we visited right after exploring Reed Gold Mine. (Two posts back😉) Shops were closed & very few people were out, but it was time well spent. Even the scenic country drive getting there felt medicinal! Imagine... You're a child again, fishing with your siblings, when you find a heavy, shiny rock. It's unique, so you HAVE TO take it home to show your dad. Of course, there's more to the story, but the rock just ends up as a doorstop for years until it's sold for $3.50. Surprisingly, that *gold nugget* was really worth around $3600!🤯 This is a *small bit* of Reed Gold Mine's history dating back to 1799. (Midland, NC) I previously mentioned this place in a news article, but only recently visited with my crew. We enjoyed exploring the mine, panning for gold, & walking the hiking trails.
