Our 2023 Spring Break

Who doesn't love vacationing? At least, I don't know anyone & we took necessary steps to plan a fantastic one!

We found a resort last year (2022) & reserved our suite for 2023. A loose itinerary was planned over time. The only thing left to do was wait (im)patiently. And that's what we did.

The closer spring break, the more excited we became! And then… disaster struck. Another family emergency & this one changed the course of our lives in various ways. Needless to say, our trip was canceled/rescheduled.

I'm so extremely proud of my daughters. Not only did they handle the emergency maturely, they also didn't allow our trip cancellation to ruin their break. We were all disappointed, but family first.

As we navigated our way through the situation, we found time for bits of enjoyment. Here's how:

1. Family members came to visit.

2. We took walks outside & played at parks.

3. We indulged in miscellaneous activities like shopping, dining in a few restaurants, visiting local gardens, getting lost in television, & napping on the couch.

4. Some personal business matters were handled earlier than expected.

5. I surprised my youngest by getting her ears pierced again.

6. My oldest now has her braces.

7. We also finalized other lingering plans.

It was a bittersweet but obviously productive spring break. I'm grateful.

Over the past months, we've lived somewhere between the betweens of life's peaks & valleys. There've been MANY stressful occurrences with wonderful opportunities appearing simultaneously. This has been one of the strangest times of my life!

It's a period of pivoting & shifting. I've had to step up in ways that (still) feel premature. All of us have. ''One thing at a time'' has become my minute-to-minute mantra. I remind myself often to breathe & go slowly.

I'm reminding you of that today, too.

B.R.E.A.T.H.E. deeply, my friend. Things will smooth out again at some point. Until then, however, you have to face one facet at a time. Handle each aspect with clarity & then move on to the next.

Remember to take care of your overall health along the way.

You can't allow yourself to neglect YOU. <3
