Exploring Old Mill Farm

Head out to a beautiful, new-to-us country setting on a perfect fall day???
Sounds like a plan!
Old Mill Farm held its first annual Oktoberfest & we were happy to be in attendance. The event was originally scheduled for early October but Mother Nature chose to make us wait a few weeks longer. The new date was Sunday, November 4th & the weather was a perfect mix of sun & breeze!
The farm promised live music, a farm petting zoo, fishing, pony rides, gem mining, games, & hay rides for its visitors. There were hot dogs, Maple View Ice Cream, & chips to fill hungry bellies. Juice, milk, water, & beer were also available. There was something for everyone but kid-friendly food/activities makes this family extra happy!
Oktoberfest & many other events are held to raise money for the Kids Farm Foundation. We did our research to learn about various scholarships/programs provided by Old Mill Farm(s) throughout the year. Such a busy place!
@2pbgirls are interested in checking out some of their vet classes for kids. However, I may have to do a mommy & me type of class with my youngest. She loves animals but that doesn’t always equate to wanting physical contact with them. LOL! Old Mill Farm also hosts birthday parties, toddler activities, & track-out classes. Our family was exhausted from birthday activities the day before so we didn’t indulge in all the farm fun. We mostly hung out & walked the grounds. Fall colors & views of the pond filled the landscape & made amazing backdrops for many of our photos. Such gorgeous scenery! We were happy to enjoy the day obligation free while meeting friendly staff members & kind attendees.
If you get a chance to visit Old Mill Farm for any reason, we think it’s worth the drive.
